Simplify -5 + 10x + 3 to 10x - 2

10x - 2 = 5x + 6

Add 2 to both sides

10x = 5x + 6 + 2

Simplify 5x + 6 + 2 to 5x + 8

10x = 5x + 8

Subtract 5x from both sides

10x - 5x = 8

Simplify 10x - 5x to 5x

5x = 8

Divide both sides by 5

x = 8/5
