since the x values (1) and (1) are the same, we just have to worry about the (5) and (-5)

the distance between a (5) and (-5)
would be  (5) - (-5)
which is equal to   (5) + (5) = 10

therefore your answer would be C. 10

note that distance should always be a positive number
