principle 4) america used to be a colony of great britain. however, people in america realized that great britain was not honoring their natural rights so that meant they could therefore overthrow the government. this was the cause of the revolution so when the constitution was created, they added that people could overthrow the government if it was not protecting people’s natural rights.
principle 3) gov gets it’s power from the people. here, the declaration is acknowledging that without the people of the united states, the government would be nothing therefore the people give the government the power to make decisions and protect rights
basically ur just explaining why the 2 principles u pick were in the declaration and why it was so important they were there during that time period. like the event during that time period that made a principle go into the declaration
