what is the difference between -3^4 and (-3)^4​

There's no difference.

Ppl use () so they can see the difference between negative values and minus. But if you are talking about values like

2x-3⁴ and (2x - 3)⁴ this one different

2x-3⁴ = only -3 get the power of 4

(2x - 3)⁴ = 2x and -3 get the power of 4
