Then the equation would be 1/3 - 1/2x = -2/3

1/3 - 1/2x - 1/3 = -2/3 - 1/3

-1/2x = -3/3

-1/2x = -1

-1/2x *2 = - 1*2

-x = -2

-x * -1 = -2 * -1

x = 2
