The war in Iraq was a key issue to the election's outcome. John McCain, one of the candidates, supported the war, while Barack Obama, the other candidate, was opposed to it.

Obama used it as part of his strategy to show voters how unfit McCain was, and it sure was one huge reason for Obama's victory.
