Slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

Plug in the values: (14 - 5)/(-2 - 1) = 9/-3
So your slope is -3

y - -3x + b

Now we need to find the y-intercept. Plug in (1, 5) and solve for b.

5 = -3 * 1 + b
8 = b

y = -3x + 8
